Pearce Estate Park lies in a curve of the Bow River as it flows through the southeast part of Calgary, in a vibrant community of Inglewood and close to Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, minutes from downtown. The park is a combination of well tended lawns and natural trail and woodland, so it makes it a perfect spot for walking, picnicking and it’s just a wonderful setting for photos. There’s a big parking lot, and the parking is free. It might be quite busy on summer weekends, but if you’re there in the afternoon, most probably you’ll find a place to park. There are washrooms in the warm season. Pearce Estate Park is a constructed wetlands, so you’ll find several ponds with cattail and wooden decks, not to mention the birds, of course! On a riverbank check out the River Passage art installation, another awesome photo location. You can sit on the benches and watch the rapids. It’s quite noisy from Deerfoot near the river but gets way quieter deeper in the woods in the middle of the park. The bike paths crisscross the park, so be mindful of the bikers. For kids, there are playgrounds and trout fishing pond, or you can go on a Fish Hatchery tour.
